Summer Music Camp (Grades K-8)

Since 1983, thousands of children have been musically inspired because of our exciting and unique music day camp program. From beginners to advanced, this offers something for all levels of ability. Take a peek below at everything you’ll enjoy at our summer music camp!

EXPERIENCE ORFF PERCUSSION

Experience exciting percussion instruments like marimbas, metallophones, and glockenspiels – yes, even Boom Whackers!

TAKE LESSONS

Explore recorder, piano, ukulele, flute, saxophone, and more instruments!

DANCE

Music and dance go hand in hand! Learn folk dances and fun movement that will complement many songs.

TRY MUSICAL THEATER

Students present their own musical at the end of camp complete with drama, singing, instrument playing, and dancing. 

SING

Learn many fun songs and perform them at the end-of-camp concert.

PLAY MUSICAL GAMES

Musical games make learning theory fun!

A Typical Day at Summer Music Camp

Camp Opening Sing and Concert Time
During our opening time, all campers and counselors gather to sing
together and work on our large group performance pieces.

Orff/Percussion Class
Students have the opportunity to enjoy playing a wide variety of both
pitched and unpitched percussion instruments, including xylophones,
metallophones, glockenspiels, drums of all sizes, and so much more!
Melody, rhythm, and harmony are the focus in this class.

Snack Break
Campers bring their own snack to eat during this time. (We are a nut free camp and ask campers to list their allergies on the registration form)

Singing, Dance and Movement, Musical Theater

Lunch & Activities
Campers bring their own bag lunch. Optional music practice, outside
games, and hanging out with new friends!

Recorder Class (For Grades 2 & Up)
Recorder classes are grouped by experience. The groups focus on
beginning playing skills, tone development, technique, ensemble skills,
and even playing new sizes of recorder, depending on age and experience
level.

Afternoon Classes
Campers will be able to choose an instrument class and either arts and crafts or musical theater each afternoon.
Classes include:​
Piano (Grades 1-8)
Flute (Grades 4-8)
Saxophone (Grades 4-8)
Ukulele (All Ages)
Musical Theatre/Drama (All Ages)
Arts & Crafts (All Ages)
More instruments may be added depending on camper interest.
