Simply Music Gateway Program (SMG)

Our Gateway program is a unique version of the Simply Music Piano program – it’s an adaptive piano curriculum that has been created in order to give students with profound special needs and learning differences the opportunity to have music making be a real and meaningful part of their lives.

Simply Music Gateway is a step-by-step learning experience. Through a creative, improvisational approach using multi-sensory channels, the student can “play” the piano while processing the basics and developing new and important skills. SMG students regularly enjoy the following benefits as a result of their experience:

Beyond The Simply Music Curriculum

As our students get higher up in the Simply Music Foundation Levels, they will learn increasingly challenging pieces. Many of our students have completed the Foundation Levels and have moved on to learn many great pieces outside of the Simply Music Piano curriculum in many different genres of music. Our students have entered and placed high in competitions such as the Charleston International Music Competition.

HOW IT WORKS

Just like you don’t teach children to read and write before they learn to speak, we believe you don’t have to know to read music in order to make it. Simply Music Piano is a new-age approach to learning piano that has you playing real recognizable songs from the very first lessons!

Designed to suit your personal interests and needs as a musician. We have many supplemental projects including composition, song-writing, arranging, improvisation, etc.. The teachers are simply here to guide you in becoming the specific kind of musician you want to be by providing you with the resources and skills you need in order to develop. Learn the kind of music YOU want to play, don’t worry about scales or middle C— just yet.
