Shared and Private Lessons

Redondo/Manhattan Beach Music School | p 310-376-8646

Several of the Music Rhapsody teachers offer private lessons in the Music Rhapsody studio, 1603 Aviation Blvd, Suite 1 in Redondo Beach.

For ages younger than 6, our teachers highly recommend Music Rhapsody classes before starting with private lessons. For ages 6 and up, continuing in the Music Rhapsody Orff program makes the progress in private lessons much faster. These students are better musicians and tend to stay with their lessons much longer.

Piano

We schedule shared Simply Music Piano lessons for children and adults. Lynn Kleiner is excited to offer a program that encourages piano students to do the same as we do in our Orff Schulwerk music education classes: create, improvise, compose, accompany. Students learn to play songs in a variety of styles. And enjoy times when we “just play our instrument without reading music first.” This is not to say our students don’t become proficient music readers. They do! Our students stay in music longer and our piano program gives students that same joy for making music that our Orff classes do.

Simply Music Piano

Sharon Ledesma

Sharon Ledesma received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University, with a minor in Piano Performance. While at Clemson, she received a music scholarship and accompanied both the University Choral groups and Musical Theater productions. She has taught piano lessons for ten years. Sharon is also a certified AMS Montessori teacher. She enthusiastically taught music and movement in her K/1 classroom as well as summer camps. Sharon looks forward to using her Orff and recorder training in her classes.

Sharon is also a licensed Simply Music Piano teacher and the manager of our Simply Music Piano program. The Simply Music Piano program includes shared lessons along with our newly released “Piano Windows”, which is a composition and improvisational program where students are given the tools to interpret a scene, discover its nuances and character and depict its mood; and “Play a Story” which is a musical journey in which you and your child travel through a storybook world. Using the piano, students learn to interpret mood, color and nuance as the story unfolds. Simply Music Piano is a remarkable, Australian-developed piano and keyboard program that offers a breakthrough in music education.
